The Blackburne Arms has recently undergone a major refurbishment and rebrand since it was taken over back in July of last year. The pub, which has been a local watering hole for almost 100years, is situated on Catherine Street in Liverpool City Centre.
The new management have drafted in an entire new team, which has seen the pub completely transformed with brand new restaurant Menu, well stocked bar with a wide selection of great beers and wines and the introduction of a great, relaxing and homely atmosphere. Not forgetting the upstairs boutique Hotel, aptly named ’24 Catherine Street’ which has been completely redecorated and reupholstered.
Local celebrities and footballing legends such as Radio City Presenter Rossie, Sky Sports’ Phil Thompson and even the likes of Liverpool FC legend, Alan Kennedy, regularly visit the new pub.
New Manager, Tom Playford-Wall says ‘It’s a very exciting time for everyone involved at the Blackburne.’
Visited with my wife and daughter several times after a match (Liverpool of course) for a meal and a drink, latest visit on Sunday 23 Feb. Food excellent, beers excellent, atmosphere great and relaxed. Staff could not be friendlier or more efficient. I am not used go giving superlatives but have no difficulty for The Blackburne Pub & Eatery.
We stopped at this hotel on the 5th April Grand National Day the food and room was excellent value for money and would highly this hotel already planning the next trip for next year
I stumbled across The Blackburne on the Internet after looking for somewhere to stay in that area of Liverpool. I couldn’t have picked a nicer place it was just perfect for a lovely short break. The pub is great and the accommodation is pristine in a perfect location with the staff really really helpful and friendly, Tom the manager couldn’t be better he is a top bloke. We will be going back for sure and if you go make sure you have their full English it’s lush.
I’ve visited the Blackburne a few times in recent months, and have been equally comfortable at the bar drinking one on the many excellent hand pulled ales as I have dining from their hearty gastro pub inspired menu.
Tom and all the staff are very accommodating, providing a really impressive personal service including helping to arrange dining for parties of 10 on my last couple of visits. The standard menu always go down well and offers really great value for money, especially if combined with the Friday wine and dine offer. The Sunday Roasts; chicken, sirloin of beef, or both in you’ve got room for them are particularly nice and for under a tenner you can’t go wrong.
If you’re looking for some great pub grub, friendly personal service in a great location to explore Liverpool’s historic Georgian Quarter then this is the place for you.
